Washington, D.C. September 1, 2016 – Risk Cooperative, a specialized insurance and risk advisory firm, announces the appointment of Daniel Wagner as Managing Director of Risk Solutions. In this role, Mr. Wagner brings more than 25 years of global risk leadership, including deep expertise in country risk management, de-risking global investment flows and managing emerging risks. Mr. Wagner previously served in leadership roles at Country Risk Solutions (a risk consultancy he founded), and with such global institutions as the World Bank Group, the Asian Development Bank, AIG and GE.
He is widely credited with improving investor access to political risk insurance (PRI), by raising its profile during his many years as a PRI underwriter and broker, and as an authority in this domain. Mr. Wagner is a recognized thought leader on global risk management and in current affairs. In addition to having published more than 500 articles on a broad range of subjects related to current affairs and risk management, he has also authored 3 books — “Political Risk Insurance Guide”, “Managing Country Risk” and the just published “Global Risk Agility and Decision Making”, which he co-authored with Risk Cooperative’s founder and CEO, Dante Disparte. Mr. Wagner has made regular appearances on major news outlets and as a speaker at conferences throughout the world.
Mr. Wagner joins risk cooperative in a key leadership role, marking an inflection point in the company’s future growth. “Risk Cooperative is at a vital juncture as we finish our second year of trade, having invested in a national risk placement platform, key partnerships, new products, and enhanced market awareness. Serving as the Managing Director of Risk Solutions, Mr. Wagner will lead market development of innovative products, risk consulting and project execution in this practice area. This will include high-level engagements on cyber resilience, de-risking global capital flows, risk consulting and board-level advisory work, among others. He will also serve as a key member of Risk Cooperative’s leadership team.
